Tsehaitu's music is infused with meditative melodies and Powerful emotions.

Tsehaitu is an Ethiopian American singer, songwriter, and producer, born in Philadelphia, PA, raised between Hawaii and Philly. Tsehaitu's ('say-hi-tu') songs reminds you of Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Jhené Aiko, Billie Holiday and Eilish.

Tsehaitu began her music journey as a little girl. Early in her childhood, Tsehaitu was given the spiritual name is Gita, which means song in Sanskrit. True to the name, you could find Tsehaitu singing in choir, chanting Sanskrit songs, or creating tunes to memorize English literature. After finishing a degree in Ethnic Studies in Honolulu, HI and right around the same time a major earthquake rocked Japan, Tsehaitu released her first single “Bring in the Lights” with Japanese hip-hop superstar Micro of Deftech.

After a few years living on a legal cannabis farm in California, Tsehaitu decided to visit her father in Ethiopia for the first time and move back to her hometown of Philadelphia. It was in Philly where Tsehaitu sang at Time Restaurant, City Hall and in studios across the city.

Fast forward to a global pandemic. Tsehaitu created solitude and resolve through songwriting, Logic, and collaboration.

Tsehaitu is currently creating her second studio album, combining infinite feelings, values, and spirituality to create passionate music that raises your vibrations, connects you to spirit and liberates your soul.
